Miamisburg is a city located in southwest Ohio. It is a suburb of Dayton, Ohio and is located about 10 miles south of downtown Dayton. The City of Dayton is the county seat of Montgomery County. Miamisburg is also located in Montgomery County. Miamisburg is the 9th largest community in the county. In 2016, the United States Census Bureau reported almost 20,000 people were living in Miamisburg.
Original inhabitants of the area surrounding Miamisburg were Native American Indians. In the late 1700s, European-Americans arrived in the area and began developing communities. In 1818, 90-acres of land was auctioned and purchased. The land was for sale in a community known as Hole’s Station. Once the land was sold it was divided into square lots. Selling the lots contributed greatly to the future growth of the community. By 1818, the community was developed as a village and was incorporated as the City as Miamisburg about 100 years later.
Today, Miamisburg is a vibrant and growing city. Much of the city’s historic character has been preserved but the development of modern-day facilities and amenities have not been hindered. Individuals who visit Miamisburg will discover friendly people, award-winning schools, many housing options, and recreational opportunities. The city is focused on maintaining its rich heritage while continuing to develop as one of the most innovative and progressive cities in the Miami Valley.
Miamisburg is located in a climate that experiences four distinct seasons. It is necessary for residents to have easy access to heating and cooling systems.
