According to the United States Census Bureau, Bellbrook was home to about 7,000 residents in 2016.
Before Bellbrook was settled, Native American Indians occupied the territory. In 1816, Josiah Grover recorded the official plat and certificate for the Town of Bellbrook. The name of the city is taken from Stephen Bell, an early proprietor, and the Little Sugar Creek which flows through part of Bellbrook. The first tavern was opened in 1816 by James Clancey and was known as the Clancey House. The tavern became a population destination for the region and was known as the “publick house of entertainment.” Today, Bellbrook is a growing city that is home to beautiful neighborhoods, modern-day amenities and facilities, and a friendly community of people.
Weather varies greatly each season in Bellbrook. The city is located in a climate that experiences sometimes extreme temperatures. Weather throughout the winter seasons is very cool. Daytime temperature highs throughout the months of December, January, and February average in the mid-30s. In addition to cool temperatures, snowfall is common.
